Ladybird (Print)
Ladybird (Print)
Description:
Inspired by the famous Tamara de Lempicka and the beautiful Art Deco movement, I have tried to capture the relatively small action of a ladybird landing on a women's arm. The ladybird symbolises good fortune. Ladybirds eat other insects, so are a welcome sight to farmers and gardeners alike.
I've created this with a charcoal pencil. I've bended the charcoal on the face, but wanted to leave the hair black and white to mirror the stylised hair of the beautiful women in Lempicka's paintings.
